The science behind The Journey

How does The Journey measure up to scientific theory?

It is now widely acknowledged by science that the emotions have a physical effect on the body. A great deal has been written on the subject by prominent experts in the field such as Candace Pert PhD, Bruce Lipton PhD, and Deepak Chopra, a medical endocrinologist who has written 19 books on the subject.

Molecules - Science behind The JourneyDuring her study of the brain Candace Pert became aware that the cells have a brain and the same neural receptors are present in most of the body’s cells. She established that mind and hence emotions are distributed via signal molecules to the whole body. In her book Molecules of Emotion (Scribner 1997) she wrote:

“My research has shown that when emotions are expressed all systems are made whole, when emotions are repressed our network pathways get blocked stopping the flow of the vital feel-good unifying chemicals that run our biology and our behaviour.”

Bruce Lipton, cell biologist and author of the book Biology of Belief (Cygnus 2005) presented scientific evidence that genes are turned on and off by signals outside the cell, including the energetic messages from our positive and negative thoughts.

Deepak Chopra supports this view: “All disease and illness is just the loss of memory of wholeness at the cellular level. When a cell loses its connection with the rest of the body, it begins to act randomly, causing havoc and destruction.”

Deepak also talks of phantom memories that get passed on from one cell to the next. He describes these as old memories that cause degenerative disease patterns in cells that are passed onto new cells before the old diseased cell dies. “Hence the disease continues.”

He explains that it is possible to interrupt the memories stored in degenerate cells and that once the pattern has been interrupted, new cells can replace the diseased old ones.

DNA - The science behind The JourneyIt has now been established that the cells of the body have a remarkable ability to regenerate and do so at differing speeds. For example a liver cell takes six weeks to regenerate, skin cells take three to four weeks, the stomach lining is completely replaced in four days and all our eyes cells replicate fully in two days. The Journey is designed to release any blockages in the cells and restore them to normal functioning wherever there has been a shutdown in the body. The process of verbally emptying out all the repressed emotions is designed to facilitate the cells to unblock so that they can communicate again and replicate into healthy new cells. For this reason Deepak Chopra has commended the work and wrote in 1999 “Brandon Bays takes her reader on a journey of astounding inspiration.”
